TNT Basketball Academy welcomed former NBA player Al-Farouq Aminu to its Abuja facility today, giving its young athletes a rare, up-close moment with a player who spent nine seasons in the league, including time with the Portland Trail Blazers.
Aminu spent time with players across the academy's age groups, a visit that offered a powerful, tangible reminder of where disciplined grassroots training can lead. For an academy built around developing not just skilled players but disciplined, well-rounded young people, having an NBA veteran walk through its doors reinforced the message coaches have been instilling all along: the fundamentals learned on courts like these are the same ones that carry players to the highest level of the sport.
The visit comes on the heels of a strong showing at the ABA Basketball Academy Summer League at the MO Arena in July, where TNT's boys' and girls' teams competed across multiple age divisions. Today's appearance adds to a period of real momentum for the academy, which continues to position itself among Abuja's leading youth basketball programmes.
