TNT's Coach Murtala Abdullahi Serves as Assistant Coach for Nigeria's Silver-Medal Run at FIBA U18 AfroBasket

TNT Basketball Academy's imprint on Nigeria's FIBA U18 Women's AfroBasket campaign extends beyond the court, with the academy's own Coach Murtala Abdullahi serving as assistant coach for the Junior D'Tigress on their run to a silver medal in Côte d'Ivoire.

Abdullahi's presence on the Nigerian bench marked a significant moment for TNT, placing one of its coaching staff directly in the technical setup that guided the team through a tight group-stage win over Tunisia (54-50) and into the championship final against Mali on 16 August. Nigeria came up just short in the final, settling for silver, but the campaign was a showcase of the coaching depth and preparation behind the team's success.

For TNT, having Abdullahi on the national coaching staff, alongside two of the academy's own players, Lawrence Becky and point guard Favor Aleje Sunday (Cecilia), on the roster itself, makes this AfroBasket campaign a full-circle moment. It reflects not just the academy's ability to develop talented players, but its growing reputation for producing coaches trusted to help lead Nigeria's national programmes.
